website is dedicated to the aviation history of Northern Norway
with a focus on the seaplane base of Skattøra in the city
of Tromsø.
At the moment the entire site is only in Norwegian. In the
future we will offer English translation of all texts.

first aeroplane came to Tromsø i 1919. Since then a
lot of different types have visited the city as well as being stationed

long and manyfold history of the most important seaplane airport
in Northern Norway - SKATTØRA in Tromsø - is not well
known. In this Flash-gallery you can explore old photos from
Skattøra, as well as an interactive map of the site.
Most of the photos come from our association´s collection
of private photos and have never been made public before..
